So, true, and it helps when the relevant details show the results of what you accomplished with those verbs. Like what changed as a result of the handbooks and conferences, or how did people react to them. Resume writing sure has changed over the years! The good thing is that when you find yourself trying to make it more concise, that means you have a lot of relevant experience.

All true. In researching the book, I've been reading a lot of job hunting advice. And I have seen multiple times that a resume should be a single page only. I disagree, for a lot of reasons but one is that resumes are being read by machines now, so might as well get the keywords in there.

I can't get mine below two pages, but that's worked just fine to get me interviews (if not jobs, lol).
