This is a community for people interested in meeting the challenges of the job market after 50. Here we can share some stories and strategies that can help everyone feel that they are not alone, and that there is a path forward.

I started Mighty Forces because I needed something like this. I recently left a safe 9-5 existence in search of something better. But the world I found was a rocky landscape filled with uncertainty, rejection and dead ends. Sound familiar? I bet it does.

Where I come from

I spent a lot of years helping friends and family with their job searches. So I knew how to navigate the traditional job landscape, and I did it well. But what I didn’t know is how much the job market has changed in the last few years, and how many challenges I would face as a candidate over 50.

So I set out to learn everything I could about this new world. And I want to share that with you. I’m currently writing a book about this process, and I will be sharing content from that book project as we go along.

The future

I also hope that we can connect with each other, share experiences and help each other along the way. That’s why I’m here on Substack. I’m glad you’re here with me.
